Access Nurses Weekly- The Beauty of a Snow Storm
Volume 7 Number 7 - December 14th
Dinah F, RN
Charlottesville, Virginia
I had an 8 week assignment in Charlottesville, VA. You’re close to DC, and the drive through the country side is worth any assignment there. The Blue Ridge Parkway is also close enough for a long weekend. I was lucky enough to be in Charlottesville for a snow storm and for someone from NV & TX, I was blown away by the beauty. I flew to New York for a long weekend also.

Already Burnt Out, Please Help!
Hello everyone…I’m new here.
I need help! I’m technically a new grad, I got my RN, BSN this summer. I’ve been working in an intermediate care unit in a small community hospital. Here’s the deal…in nursing school during my clinicals I sometimes thought it was awful how the nurses would talk about their jobs, the patients, and so on…I thought, “I’ll never be that kind of nurse, how can they have no compassion?” Well, I’m becoming that nurse.
I find myself constantly frustrated at work…I hate the fast pace… not being able to even finish one thought before someone tells me something else I need to take care of. I feel like I’m floundering during my entire shift, I start to get caught up, then for every little thing I do I have to chart on 10 different sheets of paper…by doing everything “right” I’m neglecting my patients. I never ever go home thinking that I did a good job and that I did everything thouroughly and correctly. There’s too much!
