Step into the natural wonderland of Alaska, a state made up of 65 percent in national forests, parks and wildlife refuges. For those who truly appreciate Mother Nature’s handiwork, Alaska is the state to see.

Home to less than one million people, Alaska is first-rate for adventure and exploration of the great outdoors. Check out the Alaska Experience IMAX Theater in Anchorage. It will give you a sweeping view of all the rugged areas of Alaska that aren’t usually able to be visited by the average traveler. Other notable sights are the Museum of History and Fine Art and the Alaska Zoo. Head over to Fairbanks and take a tour of the city’s gold-mining history. Don’t miss a visit to the totem pole at the capital building; it’s five stories tall.
