This picture was taken at Martin Dies Jr. State Park in southeastern Texas. I was on assignment at Tyler County Hospital in Woodville, TX. Tyler County has won awards for their nurse friendliness. It was a terrific assignment!

Tired of the Same Old Thing - Want to Try Traveling!

Hi All,

I am tired of my routine and my job. I really feel like I need to do something different and experience life a little more. My New Year’s resolution is to try traveling. I would like to do it for at least a year and then go from there. I live in Tampa and would like to travel to somewhere on the West coast, maybe San Diego? Any suggestions of places to go or where I should start in getting into this process would be greatly appreciated!

The Broken Lawnmower

During the summer when the power mower was broken and wouldn’t run, I kept hinting to my husband that he ought to get it fixed, but somehow the message never sunk in.

Finally I thought of a clever way to make the point. When my husband arrived home that day, he found me seated in the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors. He watched silently for a while, then went into the house.

He was gone only a few moments and when he came out again he handed me a toothbrush. “When you finish cutting the grass,” he said, “you might as well sweep the sidewalks.”
