Help with Nursing Interview

I’m a CVS-MS ICU critical care nurse traveling for the first time. Wondering if any of the experienced travelers can provide feedback regarding the hospital interviews prior to assignment offerings/acceptance. For instance, what questions do you feel are most important? Any other issues I should explore during these interviews?

Access Nurses’ Top 5 Favorite Winter Destinations!

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

What do you look for in a travel nurse assignment – great pay, attractive location, top health care facilities? At Access Nurses, we want your travel nurse assignment to encompass all the best aspects of the traveling lifestyle to ensure that you have a fantastic experience. We asked some of our staff to tell us their favorite assignment locations for this winter. Check out Access Nurses’ choices for the best winter destinations!

Travel Nursing in California

“California is just the best there is for a travel nurse assignment. Beach, mountains, forests—there’s no where else I’d rather be! Southern California is especially great for winter. Not only are there plenty of hospitals needs in a variety of specialties, but you can’t beat the weather this time of year. You won’t even need a jacket on your way to work.” ~J.P.

Travel Nursing in Texas

“I grew up in Dallas, and I have to say that Texas in wintertime is absolutely amazing. Dallas is obviously one of my favorite cities but it is cold, yet beautiful all over the state. The facilities are amazing and the city is jam-packed with activities for travel nurses like art museums, music venues, sporting events and cultural fairs. If big city living isn’t your style, look into Corpus Christi or Abilene for an assignment instead.” ~A.M.

Travel Nursing in Washington

“I think winter is a great time to work as a travel nurse in Washington. It can get pretty cold, but the evergreen trees are absolutely breath taking. Anyone who loves the outdoors will feel right at home here. You really can’t go wrong—from Seattle to Spokane and all the other smaller cities in between. Plus, Washington has some fantastic travel jobs available right now.” ~S.B.

Travel Nursing in New York

“New York…definitely! If you want the best of winter and the holiday season, go to New York City. I’m a big fan of real winter weather and activities…wearing scarves, going ice skating, looking at holiday decorations…all of it. The job options in New York are diverse too and living for free in one of the most exciting cities in the country is just too good to pass up.” ~J.N.

Travel Nursing in Arizona

“My top pick for winter travel has to be anywhere in Arizona. Once you see your first desert sunset you’ll know why. It’s gorgeous! Plus, job opportunities in Arizona have always been popular because of the high salaries at some of the country’s best hospitals. And since gas prices are dropping, take some weekend trips to Sedona, Scottsdale, Chinle and Lake Havasu.” ~C.K.
