By creating a show about six travel nurses on a dream assignment in southern California, Access Nurses shines a spotlight on the unsung heroes of medicine. Travel nurses are highly qualified healthcare professionals who travel the country working in hospitals with acute needs for thirteen weeks at a time. 13 Weeks will showcase the very intense and challenging hospital work environment, the thrill of exploring Southern California, and the demands of living with five new roommates.
“Nurses have traditionally been portrayed in the media as helpers and assistants. Nurses are heroes and on 13 Weeks they will be shown as compassionate and compelling protagonists.” says Alan Braynin, CEO of Access Nurses.
Access Nurses’ mission with the show is to encourage more people to enter the nursing profession by highlighting the tremendous skill, benevolence and dedication of nurses and the adventure and excitement of the travel nurse lifestyle.

Per diem nursing offers unique flexibility and top pay. Nurses can pick up per diem shifts when and where they want on a full or part-time basis. Per diem nursing is helpful to hospitals that find themselves short-staffed on a particular day. For nurses, per diem offers a unique employment opportunity . Some nurses work exclusively in per diem nursing, which affords them a great pay rate along with the flexibility of working only on days they feel like working. Other nurses take per diem shifts to supplement their existing income. With per diem, a nurse can work on their day off and earn up to $500 for one shift. Do that once a month and you have a new car payment taken care of.
